After appearing in a few unpronounceable Polish
movies, Joanna Pacula landed the lead female role in the hit mystery
Gorky Park (1983) opposite William Hurt. And it also marked the
pretty Pole's first onscreen nudity. The brunette beauty has gone
on to appear in The Kiss (1988), Tombstone (1993), My Giant (1998),
and The Hit (2001). While her bedroom romp with Hurt in Gorky
Park didn't hurt the eye, it was her turn in Husbands and Lovers
(1992) that grabbed attention like a girl giving her first hand-job.
In the film, Joanna explored taboo sexual matters, such as sadomasochism
and bondage with her lover, while her husband made love to other
women. She appeared completely nude in much of the film, including
some sweet shots of her scrumptious bush and buns. She has also
appeared nude in Every Breath (1992), The Art of Murder (1999),
and others, but Husbands and Lovers remains her greatest skin
role to date. And that's no Polish joke.
Skinfo: Lucky Joanna was vacationing in Paris when martial law
was declared in Poland in December 1981. She remained there and
became romantically involved with under-age-loving director Roman
Polanski. He got her work as a model shortly after moving to the
United States, where she was featured in Vogue magazine. Polanski
recommended her for the female lead in Gorky Park. Thanks, Polanski.
